Does Creating Kids offer tuition assistance? For infants and toddlers, we unfortunately are not able to offer tuition assistance other than Care4Kids at this time. If you have an infant/toddler and are interested in Care4Kids, please answer the tuition assistance questions on the enrollment application so we can help to determine if you may qualify for Care4Kids. However, you will need to apply directly to the State of Connecticut for Care4Kids. Applications are available here: https://portal.ct.gov/oec/care4kids. For preschoolers, we have limited School Readiness slots for income-eligible families who live in New Haven, and we also have limited additional tuition assistance available from Creating Kids. If you are interested in tuition assistance, please answer the tuition assistance questions on the enrollment application. Care4Kids is also accepted for preschool children (must apply directly to the State of Connecticut at https://portal.ct.gov/oec/care4kids). Please note that further income verification documentation and/or other documentation will be required before tuition assistance is finalized.

What is the enrollment process and timeline? The first step is to complete the application linked here and email it to us at creatingkids@thechildrensbuilding.org Once we receive your completed application, we will reach out to set up a program visit/tour. While we prefer in-person visits and ask you to bring your child with you on the visit whenever possible, virtual tours are available for out-of-town applicants. Our priority application deadline for September 2024 enrollment is December 31, 2023. The first round of offers to new families for September 2024 will be sent in late January 2024. Applications are accepted and offers made on a rolling basis, pending availability, after that date. Priority for the infant/younger toddler and older toddler rooms is given to children with preschool siblings who also plan to enroll. If we are unable to offer you a spot initially, we are happy to hold onto your information and let you know if a spot opens up.
